Job description:

SocketWorks is seeking a full-time employee to act as executive assistant and research support to its president/CEO. The position is available as of June 2007, and would be based in Accra, Ghana.

Job responsibilities will include: project research; coordinating the activities of SocketWorks's global offices and facilitating communications between company officers; helping establish new offices; assisting with project reporting and management; acting as the company contact with various stakeholders, including government officials, corporate executives, lawyers, and members of international organizations. There will also be some administrative work for the president/CEO, including the drafting of correspondence. Responsibilities will be based on experience, and the position will grow with the company. There will be opportunities for advancement into management positions and international travel.

Candidates must have strong analytical skills, personal initiative, and the ability to work independently. Candidates must be computer and internet literate and have strong organizational and oral/written communication skills. Experience working in multicultural environments is a plus. English is the primary language of operation, but a working knowledge of French is an advantage. Experience with Microsoft Excel is also an advantage.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive starting salary, housing in Accra, and a negotiable benefits package (healthcare, local transportation, etc). Transportation to Accra will also be covered.
