Nairobi — Formed over a decade ago during construction of the Kabete-Limuru Highway, Rungiri dam is one of the worst menace to people in the nearby villages. From fatal plunges into the still waters, to a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other vermin, the lake is notorious for its dangerousness.
Now residents of Kikuyu town and its environs, led by local political and church leaders (above), are threatening to sue the Government for alleged negligence unless a lasting solution is found to the dam.
