Cape Town — THE committee representing the Umzamba community - near the Wild Coast Sun - is threatening to invade the casino land if its land claim is not settled by next month.

The Umgungundlovu Land Claim Committee says Sun International, the owner of Wild Coast Sun, is dragging its feet. The committee says the company wants the community and the Eastern Cape Land Commission to accept an illegitimate lease it signed with the erstwhile Transkei government.

"We have waited for more than 12 years," said Elias Ogle, chairman of the land-claim committee. "If no progress is made, next month we will start taking action."
