Ethiopia: Irish Aid Announces 8.5mln Euros Support to Safety Net Programme

Addis Ababa — Irish Aid, the Irish government's official programme of development assistance yesterday announced a contribution of 8.5 million euros in 2007 to the productive safety net programme in Ethiopia

In its press release sent to The Reporter, it said total Irish Aid funding to Ethiopia in 2006 amounted to over 37 million euros. The present contribution of 8.5 million euros thus represents a significant proportion of Irish Aid's financial assistance to the country.
