Rwanda: Migabo, Nzaire Lawyers Clash in Court

Court — Drama unfolded at Nyarugenge Court of Higher Instance on Monday when the defence lawyer for the embattled Dr. Tito Migabo and those of his co-accused Philip Nzaire turned guns against each other. Migabo's lawyer Christopher Niyomugabo presented a medical certificate indicating that his client had been admitted at King Faisal Hospital from May 17-20, praying court to allow the accused three days of rest.

He prayed court to postpone the bail application, adding that Migabo was due to go back to the hospital for another check-up yesterday (May 22). However, Nzaire's lawyers protested the plea saying their client was available for proceedings and that his bail application should not be affected by Migabo's absence.
