Luanda — The first book titled "Histórias da Cultura Africana: Hábitos e Costumes" (History of African Culture: Habits and Customs), by writer Fernando Mawéze, was presented Thursday, on the premises of the Higher Institute of Education Sciences (ISCED), in Luanda.
Presented to ISCED students in the framework of the African Day, May 25, the work aims at giving an opportunity for research and get the country more familiar with its roots.
According to the writer, he has been for a decade telling stories, an ability he developed thanks to the association with church communities, including institutes and universities, as well as cultural programmes in Brazil.
Presenting the work were writer and foreign affairs secretary of Angola's Writer Union (UEA), Abreu Paxi.
The author told the audience that his stories are part of the African folklore and hold a moral extraordinary foundation, based on principles of genuine Christianity. He recommended both youth and adults to re-read them.
Fernando Mawéze was born in 1971, in northern province of Malanje. He currently resides in Brazil since 1995.
