Nigeria: Fashola Declares June 12 Work-Free Day

Lagos — Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has declared Tuesday, June 12 as a work free day in Lagos State as part of event to commemorate the death of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO) the acclaimed winner of historic 1993 June 12 Presidential election as well as Democracy Day

The declaration which was contained in a circular issued by the Head of Service, Alhaji Yakub Balogun, stated that the date is in keeping with the tradition of the state government as a government which recognizes the importance of which the June 12, 1993 elections and its martyrs played in the quest for the sustenance of democracy in the country
