East Africa: EAC Asked to Target High Growth Sectors

Nairobi — Finance ministers in the three East African Community member states need to come up with solid proposals for speeding up economic growth in their budget proposals next week.

Addressing the press yesterday after his election, the East African Business Council's (EABC's) new chairman, Arun Devani, said the ministers "must create economic highways in their budgets that will speed up the growth rates of the economies of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania."
