Nigeria: Kudirat - Ex-Milad's Wife Begs Yar'Adua for Husband's Release

Gusau — Farida, wife of former Military Administrator of Zamfara State, Colonel Jubrin Bala Yakubu, has pleaded with President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to consider the plight of her family and release her husband from detention. Yakubu has been in the gulag since 1999, after being charged along with five others, for the murder of human rights activist, Kudirat Abiola and the attempted murder of Mr Alex Ibru.

She made the appeal in Gusau, Zamfara State capital yesterday, when she led other members of her family on a courtesy visit to the state Governor, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi.
