Lagos — Confederation of African Football has banned the Senegalese referee who handled the Super Eagles versus Cranes of Uganda match in Abeokuta for one year.
Badara Diatta was banned after an investigation into Nigeria's 1-0 win over Uganda in March, when the referee disallowed a goal by Uganda's Geoffrey Sserunkuuma that would have tied the score in added time. Diatta awarded a free kick to Nigeria instead.
