Top federal government officials yesterday met with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to avert the impending strike action by the latter. The NLC and other stakeholders have called for a strike action on June 18 to force the federal government to reverse the recent increases in VAT and the pump price of fuel.
The congress is also demanding the immediate payment of 15 percent salary increase to workers.
