Nigeria: Rights Activists Fault Plea-Bargain for Ex-Governors

Enugu — Human rights activists have said it will be a tragedy for the Nigerian society, if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), allows former governors accused of massive corruption to go free, on the basis of the agreement reached from their plea-bargain with government.

Executive Directors, Tropical Watch, a human rights body, Barrister Sam Mbah and Mr Nana Ogbodo, told THISDAY in Enugu, that allowing the governors to go scot-free after collecting some or half of their loot would be a bad precedence and could rubbish the corruption war.
