Kampala — AFRICAN football has come far. But the chaotic circus parade that marred last weekend's Nations Cup qualifiers shows that it still has a long way to go. First, CAF was exposed by Fifa to have submitted their fixtures belatedly as the club v country row between Mali and Spanish clubs reached a climax.

Then, the qualifier between Burundi and Egypt was postponed merely because the former hadn't catered for their opponents' residential needs.
