Mendefera — The Administrator of Mendefera sub-zone, Mr. Andemariam Mihretab, said that the bodies of 900 martyrs that has been in a mass grave would be laid to rest at the Patriots Cemetery in Mendefera town.
The Administrator said that the martyrs laid down their lives during the struggle for liberation and in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty, and their bodies would be put in a casket and laid to rest on June 20.
He further pointed out that over 1,000 inhabitants of the sub-zone took active participation in putting the bodies in caskets and members of the Defense Force dug holes to plant tree seedlings, while the youth planted them.
Mr. Andemariam also stated that poetry in the form of song has been prepared in memory of the 3,000 martyrs' in the sub-zone.
