Sierra Leone: As 8WAMM Ends in Kampala - Commonwealth Disappointed At SLPP Government

Freetown — The government of President of Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Tejan Kabbah is reported to have been conspicuously absent at the just concluded 8th Commonwealth Women Affairs Ministers Meeting (8WAMM) that was held from the 11th to 14th June at the Speke Resort conference centre, Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda.

When Concord Times contacted the Director of Social Transformation Programmes Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Anne Keelings, as to why Sierra Leone was not represented, she said "We are completely disappointed at Sierra Leone for not showing up for the conference. We have a lot with Sierra Leone. We would have been very appreciative if they had come.
