Zimbabwe: Train Peacekeepers, Armies Told

Harare — DEMOCRATIC Republic of Congo Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Mawampanga Mwanananga has challenged governments around the globe to lower their military budgets in favour of peace operations and development projects.

Speaking at the graduation of 26 officers from 10 Sadc countries and Algeria who underwent a 10-day Sadc Peace Support course at the Sadc Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre in Harare last week, Mr Mwanananga said it was high time that armies shifted their attention to training peacekeepers.
