Nairobi — UGANDA WILL SOON HAVE a cultural village-cum-living museum at the National Museum in Kampala. Traditional architecture, pottery, basketry, mat making, woodwork, leather work, bark cloth, iron smelting, musical instruments, clothing and adornment will be on display at the facility.
The village is being built by the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry at a cost of Ush501 million ($286,515) despite an 18 per cent in its budgetary allocation by the government, from Ush37 billion ($21.1 million) in 2006/2007 to Ush30 billion ($17.1 million) for 2007/2008.
