Kampala — The government may in future ban polythene bags commonly called as buveera, of bigger breadth. Following the 2007/2008 national budgets, buveera of 30 microns (the small black ones) and those smaller breadth were banned.
A micron is a measurement that represents 0.000001 of a metre. A big kaveera normally sold at Shs100 is an example of a 50-micron polythene bag.
