Kampala — THE United Nations has constructed an airstrip in the jungle near Garamba Forest on the Sudan-DRC border as part of its efforts to facilitate the peace negotiations between the government and the Lords Resistance Army rebels.
The airstrip, near the vast Garamba National Park, is capable of landing small fixed wing aircraft that will shuttle LRA and government delegates involved in the talks, sources in the UN told Daily Monitor.
