Angola: Government Sets Regulation for Free Issuing of Birth Certificate

Luanda — Angolan Government has set regulations for free issuing of birth and death certificates for primary school children aged from zero to five years, and establishes similar procedure for granting of Identity Cards to minors aged between eight and 11 years.

According to a decree of the Cabinet Council, published in a recent edition of the State Gazette, the measures come in response to various legal demands, such as the high number of children without birth registration and respect for the UN Convention on Children's Rights.
