South Africa: Government Plans to Boost SME Supply Chains

Johannesburg — THE government has earmarked 10 products for procurement from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of a strategy to assist this sector to build supply chains.

Updating business representatives and the media on the progress the government has made with its SME strategy the past year, trade and industry department deputy director-general Lionel October yesterday said the plan would be tabled before the cabinet next week.
