Botswana: The Octagon Comes Alive!

column

The Botswana national museum's octagon gallery was this week on Tuesday the place to be as it premiere the on going first of it's kind local photographic exhibition by the duo TruBlu. It was perhaps one of the many nights that marked a very important beginning of the recognition of photography as a visual art and a powerful element that provokes the imagination and let the mind create its little tale about a picture. The experience was equally appreciated as an eye opener to Botswana's visual artists.

Though photographic exhibitions have been held in Botswana before the photographers have mainly been European and this particular exhibition has been dubbed a milestone on the aspect of that it was 100% Batswana photography.

Illision Vs reality

The pictures were a mixture of mono real pictures and colourful futuristic enhanced photography. The images excited people especially those who grew up in the villages, and people who appreciate the art of modernity.
