Nigeria: Akala, Ladoja Face-Off Deepens Over New Pay

Ibadan — WAR of words between Oyo State governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and his predecessor in office, Senator Rashidi-Ladoja intensified yesterday with the latter insisting that he left N13 billion in the state treasury May 29, 2007.

Ladoja described as "ruse, wicked and diversionary" allegation by Alao-Akala that he inherited an empty treasury and could therefore not pay a minimum wage of N9,400 to the state workers across the board.
