Nigeria: 28 Days Dwell Time - Customs, AMBC Trade Words

Lagos — As the problem resulting from the 28 days cargo dwell time at the port continue to elicit comments from operators, the management of the Nigerian Customs service (NCS) has absolved itself from any wrong doing, blaming other stakeholders, even as the African Maritime Business Consults (AMBC) insist that some top officials of the Service are sticking to their guns because of personal benefits from auction sales.

The Service in its response to accusations by the AMBC, said the issues raised concerning impediments to trade facilitation is not part of its schedule but that of other operators in the cargo clearance process.
