Nigeria: Lagos Warns Against Unhygienic Transportation of Meat

Lagos — LAGOS state government has warned against transportation of meat through unhygienic means and indiscriminate disposal of medical waste.

It said such unwholesome acts would no longer be condoned in the state.

Briefing newsmen after the Executive council session Monday, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele said the council viewed with displeasure the continuous transportation of meat all over the State in very unhygienic modes.

He said the new Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mr. Enock Ajibosho had been mandated to ensure compliance with the standard and acceptable mode of transportation of meat meant for human consumption, stressing the need to maintain public health.
