Uganda: Mesach Back With More Love Ballads

19 July 2007

Kampala — IN his mantle, Mesach Semakula has three Male Artiste of The Year Pearl of Africa Music Awards (2004, 2005 & 2006), one overall Artiste of the Year accolade (2005) plus the prestigious Star of Africa Award from the South African Theatre Institute (2003), reports Gilbert Mwijuke.

In his almost decade-long musical career, Semakula has released nine albums and hits including the era-defining Ssi gwe Onsimira.

And now with the release of his latest album Tezibirwa Kkubo, Semakula says: "This is just the beginning. I am only 30 and singing is my livelihood."

The album features production talents of Travis Kazibwe, who has had a hand in all Semakula's albums and David, another budding producer, who also crafted beats for Dr. Hilderman's hit, Double Bed Mazongoto.

The album, which is loaded with eight tracks will officially be launched on August 17 at Hotel Africana.

Already, popular on local FM radios, is the title track, Tezibirwa Kkubo, Lwaki Wannimba and Kabirinage.
