Nairobi — Simon Ngige, one of Kenya's leading amateurs, fired an excellent five under par 41 points with a strong outward nine score of four under 22 to take the overall winner's prize during the annual Charles Kigwe Memorial tournament at Thika over the weekend.
The off scratch Ngige eagled the par four-second hole, birdied the third and eighth. He later on birdied the 12th and 15th and dropped a shot at the stroke index one 17th for one under par 19. He won by two points from another top amateur David Wakhu who made 19 and 20 beating David Longstaff (20, 19) on countback.
