Kampala — UGANDA beach volleyballers won sh0.72m after both the men and women teams finished second at the MTN sponsored Rwanda championships at Gisenyi on Sunday.
Swalley Kenyi reports that Uganda fielded three teams where women's top seed Shiela Omuriwe, who won the inaugural title last year, and her partner Emma Ariyo settled for sh0.27m.
The men's team of Luke Eitit and Amon Ainebyona settled for the same amount after losing at the same stage while Milly Laker and Sharon Pajije, who fell to the eventual winners (Niyigeno/Uwinezo) in semi-finals, got sh0.18m.
"The Lukes (Eitit) could have lifted the trophy were it not for the questionable conduct of referees," UVF official Mofaht Masaba said on return.
