Zimbabwe: Somanje Brothers Back Together

25 July 2007

Harare — THE Somanjes -- Daiton and Josphat -- say they have resolved their differences and are now back together as Pengaudzoke.

The two who separated after a heated row, which sucked in their late wives, were helped by Alick Macheso to resolve their differences.

Although Josphat could not be reached for comment, Daiton who visited The Herald this week said they were not only on talking terms but had also vowed not to split again.

"Both our wives are late now and this makes it easier for us to stick together because we have new wives who did not understand why we were not working together. Our coming back together is because of our families," he said.

Daiton said they had started holding some shows together.

Daiton said the move would enhance their careers, which were slowly waning.

"We used to do well together but when we separated our fortunes dipped as shown by the low number of people who attend our shows," Daiton said.

Macheso said it was his wish that the brothers play together for the betterment of the music industry and their family.

"If the two brothers re-unite it would be a great leap forward in our music industry and their families," Macheso was quoted saying.
