Nigeria: Strike - Osun Health Workers Adamant

Osogbo — ACTIVITIES at the government health institutions in Osun State have been paralysed following the insistence of the State's Medical and Dental Officers (OSAMDO) to continue with their four-week old industrial action unless the government meets its demands.

The state government had over the weekend in a statement by the Head of Service, Mr. Segun Akinwusi, ordered the doctors back to work or risk being sacked. Akinwusi who insisted that the Association was illegal, maintained that the state government would no longer enter into dialogue with the striking doctors.
