Kampala — Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip will visit the Mediterranean island of Malta, in November to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Their trip precedes CHOGM that will be held in Uganda in November, said a spokeswoman at the Buckingham Palace.
"The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will pay a short private visit to Malta, as guests of the government of Malta, en route to Uganda for the state visit and CHOGM in November."
The exact date of the visit to Malta was not given but the couple will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on November 20.
The couple lived in Malta, in a house called Villa Guardamangia, in the early part of their marriage when the then Princess Elizabeth performed her duties as a Royal Navy wife before her accession to the throne.
