East Africa: L. Victoria Laws Due for Debate

Entebbe — AFTER consultations in the three member states of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, the East African Legislative Assembly will debate in September two bills meant to harmonise laws governing resource management and safety on Lake Victoria.

The MPs completed their consultations on the Lake Victoria Basin Commission and Lake Victoria Transport Bills last week in Entebbe. Such issues are now dealt with individually by the three East African countries that border the lake.
