Southern Africa: SADC Police Chiefs Meeting Starts Today

Luanda — The fight against illegal immigration will top the 12th annual meeting of the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Council Organisation (SARPCCO), happening from July 31 to August 02, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), informed on Monday, in Luanda, the general commissioner of the Angolan National Police, Ambrósio de Lemos.

Speaking to ANGOP at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Ambrósio de Lemos informed that at the meeting each country will present its experiences on fighting illegal immigration, since this is a problem faced by every country in the region.

Referring to stolen vehicles in the region's member countries, Ambrósio de Lemos said that such practice has been decreasing, as well as the entry in Angola of vehicles with steering-wheels to the right hand side. Ambrosio de Lemos is expected back in the country on 03 August.
