Eritrea: Eritrea Festival 2007 in Sweden Opens

Stockholm — In continuation of Eritrea Festival 2007 which was held in Holland and Germany, the Festival opened yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden. Mr. Hagos Gebrehiwet, Head of Economic Affairs at the PFDJ, opened the Festival.

The Charge D'Affaire at the Eritrean Embassy, Mr. Yonas Mana, commended the programs underway to familiarize children and youths with their culture as well as the effort being made to support families of fallen heroes.

Subsequently, Mr. Hagos Gebrehiwet accompanied by members of the Embassy and the PFDJ inaugurated the art exhibition prepared by Demoz Russom and Michael Adonai that highlights the nation's rich culture, history and the people's lifestyle.

Moreover, different dances, songs and dramas were staged by Eritrean children and youths. Besides, Rahwa Cultural Troupe presented songs thus, adding color to the event.

The Festival would continue for four days.
