Barentu — The Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergish, conducted a tour in Gash-Barka region, during which she observed the current climatic condition and overall activities.

The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet accompanied her in the course of the visit aimed at observing and exchanging experience in the on-going development activities and those set for implementation through the Warsay-Yikaalo Campaign.

Ms. Tsegereda observed the progress made in the construction of water diversion schemes in Hashenkit and the banana and Tomato paste factories being set up in Alebu. Moreover, she observed crop cultivation in Gerset, Tessenei sub-zone.

Mr. Kahsai and Ms. Tsegereda took a close look of programs being implemented by national construction companies in general and the major micro-dam in particular, the challenges overcome and the outcomes registered.
