Nigeria: Odemwingie Gets Replacement

Lagos — Lille are tipped to sign Halmstads striker Emra Tahirovic as a replacement for the departed Peter Odemwingie.

Odemwingie joined Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this summer, leaving Lille on the lookout for a new striker.

LOSC officials have identified Tahirovic as their top target and are understood to have won the race to sign the starlet.

Tahirovic is expected to undergo a medical early this week and will then sign a four-year deal with Lille.

The 19-year-old was reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs, including sides in England and Holland.

Meanwhile, Lille striker Souleymane Youla has revealed he could have left this summer, but is now desperate to impress next season.

"I have thought about a move, but today things are clear to me, I want to stay," Youla told Mercato365.

"I had contacts in France and abroad."
