Massawa — Sembel Metal and Wood Works Factory is setting up a similar plant in Massawa at a cost of 50 million Nakfa, according to Mr. Gerezgher Asmelash, manger of the factory in Sembel.

The new "Hirghigo Metal Works" which is expected to go operational next month would have the capacity of producing 18 to 20 tones of pipes daily, he added.

The manager further indicated that the new factory would make major contribution in housing construction activities in the country in general, and with regard to the tasks underway to establish the Free Economic Zone in particular.

Moreover, Sembel Metal and Wood Works also plans to set up tiles factory in Ginda at a cost of 10 million Nakfa.
