Mogadishu — At least three civilians have been wounded after Ethiopian troops opened fire around SOS hospital, north of the capital. Witnesses said a large number of Ethiopians arrived in the vicinity began shooting indiscriminately.
The three people were hit by the crossfire, according to witnesses.
The troops then started searching houses nearby for weapons and insurgents.
Also a huge bomb explosion could be heard in Mogadishu on Thursday.
Meanwhile insurgents and government troops clashed in north of the capital. Witnesses said the suspected insurgents hurled a grenade at a government vehicle carrying number of armed troops in the area while other government forces based near the site of the blast trying to come for backup were intercepted by another group of insurgents.
Explosions and exchanges of gunfire could be heard.
It is not yet clear if there were any casualties. The largest number of government soldiers has been evident everywhere in the neighborhood on Thursday.
