Lagos — THE University of Nigeria has undergone profound positive changes in recent times. Indeed, students of the institution have reasons to be optimistic of an improved academic environment as the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedu Nebo is giving the university a new lease of life.

The VC himself has said that his efforts are directed to get the "Lions and Lionesses"- as students and graduates of the university are fondly called - to roar again. There is no doubt that the past three years have been quite revolutionary for the university with new direction and divine mission. Perhaps Prof. Nebo's courage to face challenges derives from his status as a venerable of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. The VC has repeatedly told anybody who cares to listen that when he assumed duty the university was very much dilapidated and lacked community support and municipal services. The institution had faced years of intellectual incapacitation before it was revived.
