Eritrea: Staff Members of Information Ministry And Sawa Training Center Complete Basic Journalism Course

In line with the efforts being made to develop human resource capacity, 19 memberps of the Ministry of Information and 15 from the Sawa Training Center graduated yesterday upon completion of basic journalism course.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the head of human resource development in the Ministry, Mr. Girmai Woldegergish, stated that the Ministry is exerting vigorous efforts to upgrade the skill of its members and thereby strengthen and expand its services. He further indicated that the latest course was organized in collaboration with Sawa Training Center.

The course included news writing, compiling report on current affairs and editing. The Commander of the Air Force, Maj. General Teklai Habteselassie, handed certificates to the graduates.

It is to be recalled that the Ministry of Information offered a similar course to staff members in collaboration with German Media Academy, as well as to 18 correspondents of the Administrative regions.

In a separate report, 30 members of the Ministry of Information who have been following journalism course for more than a year in the University of Asmara would graduate next month.
