Uganda: Regional Games Squad Named

Kampala — UGANDA Schools Sports Association (USSA) has named 23 teams for the East Africa Schools Games due in Kisumu, Kenya from August 25 to September 2. The list, released by USSA secretary Patrick Okanya yesterday, includes Coca-Cola Cup football champions St. Mary's Kitende.

Kitende are defending champions in the regional soccer event. Kitende will also defend the netball and volleyball titles.

Kitende will lead Uganda's squad at the event that will also have teams from Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

The Ugandan squad also has Masaka SS and Mulusa Academy boy's teams. The girl's teams are Masaka SS and Kawempe Muslim.

Netball has holders Kitende, Gombe SS and Kakungulu High while the rugby event has Namilyango College and King's College Budo.

Volleyball has Kitende, SDA Katikamu and Lugazi Mixed in boys event and Katikamu and Brethren in the girls category.

Basketball teams are drawn from King's College Budo, Cranes High (boys). Kitende (girls).
