East Africa: Intra-Comesa Trade Up By 35 Per Cent

Nairobi — Cross-border trade accounts for up to 35 per cent of the current value of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) formal trade.

Comesa Secretary General, Mr Erastus Mwencha, says intra-Comesa trade last year amounted to $6.44 billion (Sh429 billion). Thus, intra-Comesa trade amounted to about Sh150 billion.
