The National Defence Force recommends to all those who come from the countryside going to Bujumbura via roads to be early.

This was indicated by Colonel Adolphe MANIRAKIZA, the spokesman of the army this Wednesday 15 August 2007. "The army is unable to insure security on the roads leading to Bujumbura at night, the army's spokesman said, also we recommend to all those who come to Bujumbura through the roads to be early."

This is indicated after a series of raids that are carried by some gangs of robbers which spark insecurity in the whole country. Since the ceasefire between FNL PALIPEHUTU and the Government of Bujumbura was signed and the lift of the curfew was decided, people have been freely coming to Bujumbura at anytime of their convenience, which is often at night time.

In order to cope with the criminality that is gathering momentum, the police started to conduct a search operation in the city of Bujumbura on Monday 13 August 2007, to find those who live there irregularly.
