Lusaka — Angola Thursday in Lusaka, Zambia, took up the presidency of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) politics, defence and security organ.
This happened at the opening of the SADC's 27th Summit of Heads of State and Government, at which Angola is being represented by president José Eduardo dos Santos.
Discussions on the contribution of member States and on regional integration are part of Thursday's agenda.
SADC countries will also analyse their participation in the world conference on poverty, slated for next year in Mauritius.
SADC, founded in 1992, comprises of Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, DR Congo, Tanzania, Swaziland and Malawi.
