Eritrea: Administrator Calls On Farmers to Make Good Use of Underground Water Resources in Mogolo Sub-Zone

Mogolo

The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, called on farmers in Mogolo sub-zone to make good use of the available underground water resources so as to boost agricultural production. He made the call at a meeting with 300 representatives of the administrative areas of the sub-zone.

The Administrator further called on farmers to work hand-in-hand with the Government in efforts towards achieving food security and introducing agro-industry to this end. The participants of the meeting forwarded different recommendations including ways of easing potable water supply problems in some villages of Mogolo sub-zone, facilitating installation of electricity lines from Barentu to the sub-zone and the promotion of equitable social services.

Mogolo sub-zone comprises 8 administrative areas.
