Hamelmalo — The Administration of Hamelmalo sub-zone disclosed that effective development activities have been carried out in 9 administrative areas over the past six months through popular campaigns.
The development activities focused on the construction of terraces and embankments, renovation of water catchments and soil and water conservation, as well as ensuring food security.
Accordingly, over 84,000 cubic meters of embankments and more than 300 km-long terraces have been put in place in addition to related development programs.
The Administrator of Hamelmalo sub-zone, Mr. Yemane Gli'u, indicated that a 30 km-long road which was damaged due to heavy rains has now been repaired and that about 6,000 different tree seedlings have been planted in different areas of the sub-zone.
