Somalia: Roadside Bomb Blast Wounds Three in Mogadishu

Mogadishu — At least one person was wounded after a roadside bomb aimed at a Somali military vehicle blasted somewhere closer to the venue of the country's reconciliation congress in north of the capital, Mogadishu, on early Monday morning.

Abdiwahid Mohammed Hussein, the head of public and press office relations of the transitional government, told Shabelle that it was landmine planted at a roadside near a refugee camp in north Mogadishu.

He said he could not tell whether it was meant for the reconciliation delegates who frequently use that road. "The reconciliation conference house is near the site of the blast," he said.

No one of the government soldiers onboard the vehicle was hurt, according to Hussein.

He said the wounded person was one of the IDPs in the area.

Other sources say two civilians have also been wounded in the incident.

No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.
