Rwanda opened its campaign at the inaugural Under-17 Cecafa youth championships in fantastic fashion with a 2-0 win over Somalia at Prince Louis stadium in Burundi. AS Kigali's midfielder Heyman Ngomirakiza put Rwanda ahead in the 35th minute before sealing the win with a neatly worked header in the 80th minute.

It's however reported that both sides squandered many scoring opportunities.

Rwanda now looks to build on Saturday's fine start when they clash with Tanzania this afternoon.

Seeded in Group A, Rwanda will wind up their group games with a tie against hosts Burundi.
