Burundi: Nkurunziza Assures That Security is Guaranteed as He Tours the Country

Bujumbura — The top executive authorities continue to meet the population of different provinces.

President Nkurunziza visited the province of Kayanza on Friday, August 17th where he indicated that security in the whole country is guaranteed and that the international cooperation is good, a message that contradicts daily reports with regard to the security issue.

On Sunday August 17th, grenades were lunched at the homes of Nduwabike Jean Marie, Mpawenayo Pasteur, Félicien, and Nephtali Ndikumana, but there were no victims. Recall that these parliamentarians' are among the 39 Mps whose pictures, fathers and places of origin were recently published by the pro-governmental newspapers Intumwa.

In the meantime, the First Vice-President Dr Martin Nduwimana is touring the province of Mwaro with the same message. On Thursday August 16th , he met with the officials from Ndava, Rusaka and Nyabihanga communes in Fota.

Burundi major opposition political parties have asked the President Nkurunziza to put an end this campaign that they qualify as aimed at trashing members of the parliament that are opposed to the moves of his government.
