The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam'aat United Kingdom (UK) held its 41st annual convention at the Hadeeqatul Mahdi from Friday 27th July to Sunday 30th July 2007.
The Gambia and Guinea Bissaus' delegation of 18 people, led by the Amir (head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, The Gambia Baba F.Trawally attended the blessed and successful convention.
In his inaugural address, the Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (ATBA) said that the greatest of all the prophets of Allah Almighty is the Prophet of Islam Muhammad. By following his path for only ten days one can attain a spiritual status that could not be attained before him, even if one strive for a thousand years.
The only religion that has the approval of Allah, Almighty is the religion of the Holy Qu'ran. For us, therefore, to develop a real contact with the Holy Prophet, we have to follow perfect spiritual son the promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as) because it is he who has reflected on his person, the highest noble qualities of the Holy Prophet. Allah has raised the Promised Messiah (as) in this age to lead us to the fountain of developing real contact with the Holy Prophet. Hudoor (ATBA) went on to state the truthfulness of the claim of the Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) that he has been sent by God, Almighty. One of these proofs is the support and help that Allah Almighty has always given to him and his followers over their enemies.
Addressing the ladies, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih V (ATBA), said that it is a blessing of Allah, Almighty on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at that the ladies of the jama'at advance so much in righteousness that they sometimes defeat men in this regard. He admonished them that in order to follow the divine path and have the love and pleasure of Allah , Almighty, they must follow His commandment and the practice of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustapha. This is the true Jihad and therefore Ahmadi women must always be mindful of their religious duties. Those who do this Jihad are the people who do service to Allah and also serve His creation. Those are the people whose hearts are filled with the fear of Allah Almighty and will inherit the paradise of Allah Almighty.
He said that those shall continue living in the sight of Allah who totally resign themselves to the will of Allah. Hudoor went on to give the example of women of the time of the Holy Prophet and the followers of the promised Messiah (as), who have shown perfect righteousness.
In his closing address on Sunday, Hudoor (ATBA) said that it is the blessing of Allah, Almighty that he has made us Ahmadis by accepting the Imam of the age, the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi, Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (peace be upon him). Therefore, all Ahmadis must strive to meet the standards set by him, thereby fulfiling the purpose of his mission. That purpose, he said, is the re-establishment of the true faith that had disappeared from the world. The protection of this true faith is destined for those who are attached to Khilafat and their hearts are filled with piety. Those who follow the Promised Messiah (as), Allah, Almighty will guide and protect them. He admonished that every moment of the life of an Ahmadi Muslim must be spent in the fear of Allah , Almighty and when that is done all his faculties will be filled with the divine light. Those who are righteous are the ones that Allah, Almighty guide and those without righteousness are blind. "Therefore, bring about pious changes in yourselves and set your hearts aright and be best in conduct," he said, so that you will kill satan and be victories over him. Hudoor (ATBA) went on to give the philosophy of Surah Fatiha and some prescribed prayers.
In addition to the faith-inspiring speeches by the Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, there were speeches on the observance of Salaat by Maulana Ata-ul-Mujeeb Rashid, the Imam of the London Mosque; the relationship of the Promised Messiah with Allah, Almighty by Mr.Bilal Atkinson; solutions to the problems of the Islamic world by Mr. Rafiq Ahmad Hayat, Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at UK; and prophecies of the Holy Prophet about the latter days by Mr.Ibrahim Noonan.
Prior to Hudoor's closing address, he led millions of Ahmadis around the world in renewing their pledge of initiation at his hands under the blessed institution of Khilafat on Sunday 29th July 2007. The convention was attended by over 25 000 people from around the globe.
The Spiritual and Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih V (ATBA) prayed for world peace, security, harmony and spiritual upliftment of humanity.
May Allah Almighty continue to shower His endless blessings on us all and continue to guide us in carrying out our obligations towards Him and humanity. May He continue to protect our dear country, The Gambia and grant the entire world peace and security.
